Product use and maintenance instructions

Instruction before use:

Wearing a new arch support is no different to beginning a new sport or gym routine. The muscles of your feet need time to adjust to the changes you are making to them. Please begin by wearing your Balance Supports for only a short time each day, progressivly extending the wear time over 10-15 days, until you your feet are used to them.  If at any time your feet or body feel uncomfortable while wearing arch supports, take them out immediately and start again the next day, after your feet have rested.

Directions for use:

Wear the Balance Supports in your shoes with the heel of the arch support securely fitted against the heel inside your shoe. Your arch supports may be worn underneath your shoes insole, if it lifts up easily, or on top of the insole. Arch supports can be worn directly under your foot or with socks or stockings and are suitable to be worn in shoes with a heel height of up to 5 centimetres (2 inches).

Do not wear your arch support on top of another arch support. Replace your arch support every other year for maximum performance.

How To Avoid Arch Support Slip Around:

For most people your feet and body weight will naturally hold the Balance Supports in place when you walk. However, if you wish to fasten the arch supports down, our specially designed Velcro for our Balance Supports is an option.
If your arch support moves due to the exceessive space inside the shoe during use, you can consider placing the arch support under the lining insole of the shoe.

How to clean:

If required wash by hand in lukewarm water and a mild cleaner. Dry with a soft towel. Do not machine wash or dry!

Product maintenance:

The balance support range are made of high-tech ergonomic material, which is easy to maintain but should be kept away from fire or sharp hard objects.

General warning:

If you are a diabetic or have a known medical condition, please consult your medical specialist before wearing arch supports.

Foot Supports International will not be liable for any injury resulting from incorrect use. If you are unsure if arch supports are appropriate for you, consult your doctor or specialist.

Arch Supports are not suitables for youth under 18 years old due to the ongoing growth of a youths foot. If you feel your child requires some form of support see a specialist.

Frequently asked questions and answers

Q: How long does it take for my feet to adjust to FSI® Foot Supports?

A: Like beginning a new exercise routine, the muscles of your feet must be given time to adapt to the new supports. Initially, do not push yourself to wear the supports for long periods and if they become uncomfortable remove them to allow your feet to relax until the next day. For most people it takes 6-14 days to become completely accustomed to the supports.

Feet also love change so it is best to move between the Everyday and Power lift over your week.

Q: Can I wear my FSI® Foot Supports on top of my insoles?

A: Ideally your FSI® Foot Supports will be placed under your existing insoles, however they can be worn on top of your insoles with no issue, assuming the existing insole is not specially moulded into a foot supporting shape already. Never place a foot support on top of another foot support.

For most people their body weight will keep the foot support in position when placed on top of an insole while they walk, but Velcro dots are provided in your package that allow the support to be stuck into place if necessary.

Q: How do I apply the provided velcro?

A: Each set of Velcro dots has a hook (hard) dot and a loop (soft) dot.

  • Place the hook (hard) dot on the roughened area on the underside of the heel of the arch support.
  • Place the loop (soft) dot on the heel area inside your shoe, ideally under your insole, if removable.

Ensure the support is correctly positioned under your foot and the heel of the support is firmly against the heel of your shoe.

Q: What is the difference between the "Walker" and "Worker" foot support?

A: The Balance Walker Balance Support is a medium lift foot support. For those with flat or medium arches it is the best choice to start with while your foot adjusts to foot supports. The Balance Walkers lift, as its name suggests, is your everyday support for general day to day activities.

The Balance Worker Balance Support is a high arch foot support and is used when you expect to spend longer periods on your feet, in a workplace or hiking. Its also the best option for use in any kind of sporting activities.

Q: What are FSI® Foot Supports made of?

A: Your new foot supports are made from a unique semi-flexible synthetic polymer blend - referred to as a "bionic blend", due to the blending of biomechanics (the science of movement) and modern engineering in the development of the product.

The semi-flex polymer blend heats with your body's natural temperature allowing it to mould efficiently with your foot movements during walking or running while still retaining its shape and support. However, the polymer is so strong that it can be driven over but will instantly return to its original shape.

Q: Can FSI® Foot Supports go into any shoe?

A:Thanks to the slender yet strong design, your new foot supports should fit into most any shoe you own.

However, we do not recommend wearing FSI® Foot Supports in shoes with a heel higher than 2 inches.
